Academy Talent
The prospect of stepping into one of today’s ‘entry-level’ positions was daunting. The Assembled Academy proved to be a welcoming program, comprising numerous successful and established agencies that embraced me, offering an immersive experience into their dynamic businesses.
Finding the next step can be daunting to anyone entering an industry. Discovering if a career path works for you can take a lot of mental effort, causing worry or concern about if it’s the right fit. I found myself feeling unsure if the marketing world would be my place, feeling insecure as to whether I made the right choice towards the end of my Marketing Psychology degree.
The academy forced me to think completely differently, as I jumped from agency to agency. I had to harness different skills and different types of expression as I worked with Narrative and Next. Although the experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, I have never learned so much in such a short amount of time.
From the get-go, I felt welcomed by the Assembled Group as someone that was there to learn, not just another intern from one of those horror stories you hear at university. The flexibility and customisation of the Academy made sure the program was tailored to what I would be interested in and enjoy.
Being a recent grad is scary, nerve-wracking, and most of all exciting. I recently felt all these emotions in full force when I helped present a competitive pitch to a major client’s CEO and their team. What a pinch-me moment this was. If I could go back and tell myself everything I have achieved in my first year out of uni I wouldn’t believe it.
One of the highlights was being able to gain hands-on experience across various disciplines, ranging from strategically planning advertisements and optimising campaigns, to crafting compelling narratives, and exploring creative processes.
What we're looking for
We’re looking for self-motivated, ambitious students or recent graduates who are excited to gain real-world experience in the media, marketing and communications industry.
We recruit from a diverse range of degree backgrounds including communications, media, advertising, PR, design, marketing, business, and arts. To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid working visa.
You are in the final year of your degree or you have been a graduate for one year in a relevant stream. You must be available for 3 business days per week commencing mid February 2027.
What to expect
The Assembled Academy program consists of a 12 week placement with 2 of our member agencies, providing the opportunity to gain experience across multiple industries and disciplines.
As an Academy member, you’ll have access to knowledge, skills, and mentorship from established creatives and communications professionals at each agency, helping you grow and thrive in your chosen field.

Applications for the 2027 intake of the Assembled Academy are now open. Once we review your application, you may be invited to an interview stage where we will discuss your placement in more detail.
Each application should include a CV or portfolio and a cover letter.
