I feel fortunate to have been a part of the Assembled Group’s inaugural academy. After receiving my Bachelor of Media and Communications degree, I was unsure where my future lay. I have always believed that I possess a great deal of creative potential, but I had yet to fully realise it in my professional life. Finally, I became part of the Academy. This allowed me to explore my animation and editing skills to their fullest potential. The academy forced me to think completely differently, as I jumped from agency to agency. I had to harness different skills and different types of expression as I worked with Narrative and Next. Although the experience pushed me out of my comfort zone, I have never learned so much in such a short amount of time.
From the word go, with my first agency Halo I was pushed straight into creating work that would be shown to clients. Whilst being put in the deep end, there was so much support for me, allowing me to be part of a very inclusive space to learn and grow in the creative industry. That was with Halo and reinforced with Next Brand where I was forced to shift my mindset into becoming a professional practitioner. For example, I had to keep in mind brand continuity, messaging, and styles in any work I was involved with.
I was fortunate enough to be asked to work full-time with Halo I’m very grateful to be part of a program that recognised my potential and invested time and money to help me grow in the industry. It was also great to see people from different agencies supporting me.
